Fired X-MEN ’97 Showrunner Says He Was ‘Removed’ From BLADE After Sharing Concerns About Unsafe Conditions

Fired X-Men ’97 artistic director Handsome DeMayo is on the offensive right now when dealing with Marvel Studios and telling his side of the story.

He has recently come down hard on the studio for its toxic work environment and criminal working conditions. He also said that all the claims they have made against him and the rumors circulating online were false. He will also go to court over the NDA he signed with Marvel.

DeMayo also spoke about his time working on Lama film and explained why he feels he was ultimately “removed” from the project.

DeMayo was hired to rewrite the Blade script and claims that Marvel executives joked to him that they had hired “a young Wesley Snipes” to write the film.

He responded in his OnlyFans video, saying, “One of the reasons I wanted to make this video is to show you that me and Wesley Snipes look nothing alike.”

He added that “the final straw” for him was when he approached about the production offer for Blade, where he was told that “someone had to crack the whip here.”

DeMayo goes on to say that when he shared his concerns about Blade’s injurious conditions with Marvel Studios, he was “removed from the project in the middle of moving to Atlanta for production, and then my role in season two of ‘X Men ’97’ was aggressively marginalized.”

He claims to have “receipts and eyewitnesses” to support these claims.

Marvel has not responded to any of DeMayo’s claims, but it’s safe to say that its lawyers are preparing to declare war on him.

We’ll just have to see how it ends.
