The first clip from the new film adaptation of Stephen King’S Salem’s Lot has been released. It’s called “Where’s the Body?” and it gives us our first footage that teases the film’s intense eeriness.
In the video, “Ben [Lewis Pullman] and Susan [Makenzie Leigh] joint Alfred Woodard as Dr. Cody, who initially fears the spread of a blood disease; Jordan Preston Carter like school children’s horror expert Mark Petrie; and John Benjamin Hickey as local priest Father Callahan as they investigate the Straker mansion to find evidence of a dead body. Bill’s Field He also plays the Van Helsing-esque teacher Matthew Burke.”
This is just a small taste of what this awesome horror movie has to offer and it comes before a trailer has even been released. I have already seen a trailer for this movie and it looks like an awesome horror movie!
The film was originally supposed to be released in theaters, but then Warner Bros. made the stupid decision to release it on Max instead.
from the director My friend Gary Dauberman (Annabelle Comes Home).
Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale, Top Gun: The Legend Continues) stars in Salem’s Lot and will play the role of author Ben Mears, “a man who returns to his childhood home, Jerusalem’s Lot, seeking inspiration for his next book, only to discover his hometown is gripped by a vampire, prompting him to join a diverse group to fight the evil presence.”
Director My friend Gary Dauberman spoke about the film in an interview, saying, “You could make a very dry version of this film, but that’s not really my personality. It’s trying to ride the highs and lows of that wave.
“You’re having fun, and then you might get a scare, and then you’re having fun again. Hopefully in the end it feels like a full circle.”
Speaking previously about the film, Pullman said: “It’s a scary thing to do these remakes, man. It’s like, this and [Top Gun: Maverick]There’s so much pressure that it’s hard to figure out a trick to make it work.
“But Gary Dauberman, the director, is really keen to do the book justice. But even the previous adaptation was in two parts, because it’s such a big book and there are so many moving parts and so many characters.
“So there are some parts where Gary had to push and find what was really at the heart of the movie to keep, but for the most part, he’s really faithful to the book and keeps a lot of the original dialogue. He’s a Stephen King sleuth, so he doesn’t want to hurt Stephen.”
He added: “So I think it’s in good hands, Gary is a really smart guy who has a keen eye for things. I think it’s not just about the jump scares, but the more conceptual and visual things that, rather than a shock that fades from your body in the next five minutes, something more visual, like a fingerprint that’s burned into your retinas like a haunting image that will wake you up in the middle of the night and you can’t get it out of your head.”
King saw the film and was impressed, saying, “Between you and me, Twitter, I saw the new SALEM’S LOT and it’s pretty good. Old school horror film: slow build, big payoff.
“I don’t know why WB is holding it back; not that it’s embarrassing or anything. Who knows. I just write the f–king stuff.”
King had already spoken about the film several months ago, saying: “It feels like a horror version of slow-burn movies like THE GREAT ESCAPE. It develops very well.
“There are some deviations from the book that I disagree with, but overall, faithful. Best scene: Danny Glick in the hospital, trying to rip open a blood bag. Glick’s scene could have been directed by John Carpenter in his prime.”
The film will be released on Max later this year.
