Lucasfilm has released the first trailer for the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: Skeletal Crew at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, where Jude Law took the stage to introduce the trailer and talk about the series.
This series seems unlike any other Star Wars project we’ve seen before. The series has been described as “a galactic take on the classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” You can definitely see that influence in the trailer!
The show definitely had that Amblin vibe and as someone who grew up with that genre of movies, I kind of like it. This is going to be a really interesting show! I hope it’s good! I’m rooting for her!
Whether it turns out to be good or not, one thing is for sure: if this series had come out when I was a kid… I would have loved it! It looks like fun!
Skeleton Crew follows the journey of four boys “who make a mysterious discovery on their seemingly safe home planet, then become lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy, crossing paths with characters like Jod Na Nawood, the mysterious character played by Law.
“Finding their way home and encountering unlikely allies and enemies will be an adventure bigger than they ever imagined.”
The series was initially pitched to Lucasfilm as “The Goonies In Star Wars,” and it was explained that, although the series features four children, “it is not a show for children.”
The series was created by Jon Watts (Spiderman) and also recites Ravi Cabot Conyers, Kyriana Kratter, Robert Timothy SmithAND Ryan Kiera Armstrong. Nick’s Frost He also plays a droid in the series.
The episodes of the show will be directed by Bryce Dallas Howard, The Daniels, Davide Abbassa, Jake SchreierAND by Lee Isaac Chung. The MandalorianS Mr. Jon Favreau AND Dave Filoni will be executive producer.
The film will stream on Disney+ on December 3, 2024, with the first two episodes. Watch the new trailer below.
