What are the chances that someone will be involved in two hijackings? Pretty skinny, unless you are Idris Elba In Hijack. Apple TV has officially released the first teaser trailer for Hijack Season 2, and this time the action moves from the skies to the underground.
The new season abandons the chaos of the airplane cabin for the tense, closed tunnels of the Berlin subway. The situation seems equally unnerving when a Berlin subway train and its passengers are taken hostage as authorities race to save hundreds of lives.
Sam Nelson (Elba) once again finds himself in the middle of the storm, trying to keep everyone alive when any move could be fatal.
The first season of Hijackpremiering in June 2023, it captivated viewers with its real-time narrative following a seven-hour flight from Dubai to London that turned into a high-stakes hostage situation.
Season two looks set to bring the same intensity back to real-time, but it will be interesting to see how the format works in a metropolitan environment where a full lap around Berlin takes less than two hours.
The series was created by George Kay (Kill Eve, Lupine, criminal) and directed and co-written by Jim Campo Blacksmith (Seekers of truth, Litvinenko). Both return as executive producers alongside Idris Elba, Jamie Laurenson, Hakan KousettaAND Tom Nash. The second season was filmed entirely in Berlin.
Hijack Season 2 begins streaming on Apple TV on January 14, 2026.
