“Owl” and “lark” represent different sleep patterns and preferences. Some people prefer to stay up late at night and feel more energetic after sunset, while others prefer to go to bed early and wake up when the sun rises. In other words, it all depends on chronotypes.

According to recent research, night owls “outperform larks” in terms of cognitive abilities. According to the researchers, “Early risers had the lowest cognitive performance in both groups, while those who got up between 7:00 and 10:00 had the highest cognitive performance, while those who got up after 10:00 had even higher cognitive performance.”

Of course, this doesn’t mean that one chronotype is better than the other. The most important thing is to learn to respect and appreciate your personal chronotype. For example, no matter how hard you try to join the party life by staying up late, if you’re truly a morning person, you’ll likely pay the price with disrupted sleep patterns.
