The SAMU operator who had insulted Naomi Musenga on the phone, delaying the treatment of this young woman who died at the end of 2017 in Strasbourg hospital, has been indicted for “no assistance to the person in danger”the prosecutor’s office specified to AFP on Friday 12 January.

The young woman, 22 years old, had tormented herself on the phone, without her complaints being taken seriously. Five hours after this call, she died of an abdominal vascular accident, according to the latest report published in November 2021. The operator who received her two calls M^Myself Musenga was indicted “during the hearing before the judge on February 14, 2023”specified a AFP Naomi Musenga’s family lawyer.

At the time, the broadcast of the exchanges between Naomi Musenga and SAMU on social networks caused a wave of indignation. “Naomi’s family has been waiting for a hearing for more than six years”, the lawyer reminded AFP. A difficult wait, but which brings with it the hope of obtaining justice: “This accusation was a source of relief, with the feeling that justice works efficiently, even if at its own pace, which is sometimes little appreciated or misunderstood by families. »
