Well Go USA has released the director’s trailer Timo Vuorensolait’s the new science fiction film Alteredand it seems Harry Potter alum Tom Felton dives headlong into a crazy, bloody and dystopian future.
Set in an alternate present where society has been rebuilt after a nuclear war, Altered explore a world divided by DNA. Genetically enhanced humans rule from above, while ordinary, unaugmented people, known as “Specials,” struggle to survive on the fringes.
Felton plays Leon, one of these outcasts who refuses to accept the oppressive system and joins forces with Chloe (played by Elizaveta Bugulova) to combat corruption and inequality.
The official description reads: “‘Fight the system. Change the world.’ In an alternate present where genetic enhancements have become the norm, those who cannot benefit from them are relegated to the underground.
“It’s up to a few brave souls to level the playing field for everyone, but every revolution has its cost. From Timo Vuorensola, visionary director of Iron Sky, and Tom Felton comes an exciting new story of a dystopian Earth in need of a hero in Altered.”
Vuorensola, best known for his cult Iron sky film, returns to science fiction territory with this post-direction 97 minutes AND Jeepers Creepers: Reborn. The film is also the protagonist Riccardo Freno, Aggy K. AdamsAND Igor Zhizhikinand was filmed primarily in Kazakhstan, with its futuristic cityscapes, digitally enhanced versions of Astana.
Altered it feels like a raw blend of cyberpunk aesthetics and social commentary set in a world of bright skylines, body modifications, and rebellion bubbling beneath the surface. I seriously doubt it will overcome its B-movie roots, but it could be fun.
Well Go USA will be released Altered in select US theaters and on VOD starting November 21, 2025.
