On Giovanna Fletcher’s podcast Happy Mother Happy Baby, Keira Knightley classified herself as a non-baby due to the actress’s parents significantly influencing her film career through their connections.
Knightley shared that her mother is a writer and her father is an actor, like Keira. So, since childhood, the hero of “Pirates of the Caribbean” grew up in a “very creative” environment where everyone was “obsessed with theater and storytelling”: “It was beneficial in a way, because I never thought that the path to becoming an actor would be paved with gold. I always thought that I would probably have to work other jobs. Sometimes my father worked as a taxi driver. My mother worked in a bookstore.”
Kira believes that she is not actually a baby and that the term used in her direction did not confuse the actress at all: “I guess I’m not a baby. My first manager worked with me because she was a friend of my mother, and she is still my manager today. For many actors I know, the profession is a hereditary thing. I think part of it is that this lifestyle is different from a nine-to-five job.” According to Knightley, having important connections in the acting community, made with the help of parents, is a natural step towards building your own career, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
Meanwhile, Keira Knightley has previously talked about a strict rule for her own daughters.
