


Richard “Alex” Murdaugh54, was found guilty of killing his wife, Margherita pizza “Maggie” Murdaughand one of his sons Pablo murdaughon June 7, 2021. He also pleaded guilty to two counts of weapons, meaning he has only defeated one charge in his case. Jurors reached their conclusions after hours of deliberation on March 2, after reviewing six weeks of testimony from 70 witnesses, and after touring the 1,700-acre crime scene on March 1.
The disgraced South Carolina attorney was charged with fatally murdering his family on their sprawling Islandton, SC property known as the Mosel, and was subsequently charged with two counts of murder and two counts of carrying weapons in July 2022, you pleaded innocent and you 26 survivors – one year old son, Buster, testified in his defense on Feb. 26. Alex was also under enormous pressure due to an ongoing lawsuit by the family of a young woman who died in a boating accident in February 2019. The woman was thrown overboard and died after the boat, which belonged to Alex and presumably driven by his son, Pablo, fell. “The pressures on this man were unbearable and were mounting the day he killed his wife and his son,” Waters added.

Additionally, Alex admitted to lying about his whereabouts on the night of June 7, 2021. Although he initially claimed he had never been near the kennel on his property where his wife and child were found, video from his phone captured that night proves otherwise. .
Alex’s case and life garnered national attention and even spawned Netflix and HBO Max documentaries. The documentaries investigated not only the murder of Alex’s wife and child, but also the boating accident, as well as the an alleged insurance fraud and murder-for-hire plot, his many financial crimes, and a string of deaths associated with the Murdaugh family.
