EXCLUSIVE: Skye P. Marshall has been tapped to star opposite Kathy Bates in the CBS drama pilot Matlocka new version of the classic TV legal drama starring Andy Griffith, which comes from Jane the girl Creator Jennie Snyder and Urman NCIS: Los Angeles Starring Eric Christian Olsen.
In Lock, Written by Urman and directed by Kat Coiro, brilliant 70-year-old Madeline Matlock (Bates), after successes in her early years, rejoins the staff of a prestigious law firm, where she uses her humble demeanor and cunning tactics to win cases to win win and expose corruption from within.
Marshall plays Olympics. A formidable lawyer with a thirst for justice, Olympia is a key regent at New York’s most prestigious law firm. While balancing work and life, she remains highly focused and not easily impressed, which becomes evident when she is tasked with supervising a third junior employee.
Bates executive produces alongside Sutton Street Coiro’s Urman and Joanna Klein, and Cloud Nine’s Olsen and John Will.
Matlock reunites Marshall with CBS, CBS Studios, Snyder-Urman and Klein. Last season, she starred alongside Sophia Bush and Jason Isaacs in the CBS/CBS Studios medical drama Good Samcreated by Katie Wech and executive produced by Snyder-Urman and Klein.
Marshall is from the Sundance premiere by Qasim Basir To live and die and live, in which she plays the female lead alongside Amin Joseph and Omari Hardwick. She will next be seen in the indie thriller dark comedy Coup d’état! against Peter Sarsgaard and Billy Magnussen and the indie Daft standing to Christopher Backus. Marshall, whose recent TV appearances include a recurring role on the CBS rookie drama series East New Yorkis repped by Affirmative Entertainment and Meyer & Downs.
