New scientific research shows that cats, in particular, can protect our hearts from heart attacks. Experts at the University of Minnesota in the USA discovered that cats carry unprecedented benefits. Cats affect our cardiovascular health in such a way that they prevent the risk of heart attack by 33%.

Cats have excellent cardioprotective effects on them. What is this statement based on? As cardiologist Mariano Napoli explains: “Associating with a cat can reduce stress, lower blood pressure and stabilize heart rate; these parameters are undoubtedly cardioprotective.”

In a study conducted by the University of Minnesota, 2,435 of 4,435 participants (55%) reported owning a cat as a pet. The research continued for 20 years. Participants with cat-sitting experience had a significantly lower risk of death from myocardial infarction.

We have previously talked about how the presence of a dog in the house affects the health of children.
