A hospital trust has urged staff, patients and visitors to wear face masks again due to an increase in Covid and flu cases.
Local and national Covid cases have increased ‘significantly’ in recent weeks, health bosses in Sheffield have said.
They also advise patients and visitors to disinfect their hands, maintain social distance and stay away if they have viral symptoms.

The measures, which applied to all hospitals and community centers at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, were described as “precautionary” and came into effect last Friday.
The trust’s website says: “Visitors, outpatients and all associated persons, as well as our staff, are asked to wear masks in all clinical areas and wherever they will be in close contact with others for long periods of time.”
“Ask the staff if you don’t have a mask and they’ll get you one.”
According to official data, there has been an upward trend in the number of people testing positive for Covid since July, although it has recently started to fall.
