Oscar nominated actor Colman Domingo (Lincoln, Selma, Fear the walking dead) joined the director’s cast Edgar Wrightis the next adaptation of The running man. Domingo will play the host of the most dangerous game show in the world.
The new film, based on the 1982 novel by Stephen King, which he published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman, also has a cast that includes Glen Powell, Josh Brolin, Katy O’Brian, Lee Pace, Michele Cera, Karl Glusmann, Emilia Jones, David Zayas, William H. Macy, Sean Hayes, Jayme LawsonAND Daniel Ezra.
The running man is a dystopian story set in a future society where the government controls everything. The story follows Ben Richards, a desperate and impoverished man who participates in a deadly game show called The running man to win money for his family.
The game involves Richards being hunted by professional killers as he tries to evade capture for a month. As he navigates a decaying and dangerous cityscape, Richards becomes a symbol of resistance against the oppressive government.
The running man will be released in theaters on November 7, 2025.
