Longtime Marvel executive Nate Moore has announced that he will leave Marvel Studios in his current position and move into production [outside of Marvel] at the beginning of 2025.
Moore will remain at Marvel Studios until mid-March and until the release of Captain America: Brave New Worldwhich is currently producing. The film will be released on February 14.
And although Moore is stepping away from Marvel projects, he will continue to collaborate on some upcoming projects even after Captain America. Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige and Louis D’Esposito said in a statement:
“Nate is a fantastic executive and colleague, and a wonderful friend to all of us here at Marvel Studios. He has been a key member of our team since 2010 and his influence will continue to reverberate in our storytelling.
“While we will miss him dearly, we can’t wait to see what he does next, while also being fortunate enough to work with him in a new way on our next Black Panther film.”
It’s nice that they took his departure as an opportunity to confirm the third Black Panther. Moore worked on the previous two Black Panther films and it’s great that he’s returning for the threequel in a new capacity. Moore said in his own statement:
“Almost everything I know about producing I learned during my time at Marvel Studios. I feel fortunate to have worked with a group of people who love filmmaking and storytelling as much as my Marvel colleagues and the cast and crew of our films.
“But I couldn’t be more excited to apply my experience and passion for filmmaking to theatrical films of all genres, including returning to the world of Wakanda for Black Panther 3.”
Moore has been a development and production executive at Marvel Studios since 2010. He is best known for leading and producing the 2018 films. Black Pantherwhich grossed more than $1.3 billion worldwide, earned seven Oscar nominations, including Best Picture, and won three Academy Awards. He was also a producer on Marvel Studios’ 2021 Eternals and 2022 Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He was an executive producer at Marvel Studios The Falcon and the Winter Soldier onDisney+.
Before that, he worked Captain America: The Winter Soldier AND Captain America: Civil War. He also helped develop the screenplay of Guardians of the Galaxy in the Marvel Writers Program.
