The trailer for James Gunn’s SUPERMAN will reportedly drop next week

We know that the first trailer of James Gunn’S Superman it would fall in December. I personally heard from a couple of people that the trailer might come out right before Christmas on the 23rd, but now it’s being reported that the trailer might debut next week.

This latest news comes from Puck’s Matthew Belloni and if it’s true, it could be shown in theaters sooner Mufasa: The Lion King AND Sonic the Hedgehog 3 next weekend.

It has been reported that the trailer will be more of a preview of the look and tone of the Superman film rather than a traditional preview.

Belloni teases in his article: “Also, the star of the big ‘Superman’ trailer debuting next week is apparently… a dog?” So, the trailer’s focus may just be on Krypto rather than the Man of Steel.

We’ll just have to wait and see! But it seems like something unique and out of the box that Gunn would do for a trailer.

Gunn previously spoke about Krypto, saying, “Krypto is coming to screens in ‘Superman’ this summer. Krypto was inspired by our dog Ozu, who we adopted shortly after I started writing ‘Superman.’

“Ozu, who came from a backyard hoarding situation with 60 other dogs and had never met humans, was problematic to say the least. He immediately came in and destroyed our house, our shoes, our furniture and even ate my laptop.”

“It took a long time before she even let herself touch him. I remember thinking, ‘Man, how hard would life be if Ozu had superpowers?’ – and so Krypto entered the script and changed the shape of the story just as Ozu was changing my life.

“What better time to debut the not-so-good-guy Krypto of the Month than ‘Adopt a Shelter Dog.’ However, Ozu today is, quite often, a very good guy.”

Superman will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas.

“He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as old-fashioned.”

“It’s set in a world very different from ours and very far from the DCEU. Heroes have been around for centuries and we’ll see how that has influenced the history of this world and shaped the DCU.”

Superman stars David Corenswet like Superman, Rachel Brosnahan lead to Superman and Lois Lane, Nicola Hoult as Lex Luthor; Nathan Fillion as Green Lantern; Isabela Mercede as Hawkgirl; Edi Gathegi as Michael Holt/Mr. Terrific; Skyler Gisondo as Jimmy Olsen; María Gabriela de Faría in the role of Angela Spica, aka The Engineer; Sara Sampaioas Eva Teschmacher; AND Terence Rosemore as Otis.

Superman will launch the cinematic portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. The theatrical release is scheduled for July 11, 2025.
