Watch: The First Two STAR WARS Japan Videos in the Short Series GROGU: CUTEST IN THE GALAXY

It’s been five years since Grogu burst onto the scene, initially known as Baby Yoda, capturing our hearts and maintaining his role as the cutest in the galaxy.

That’s why it’s not surprising Star Wars Japan has released a series of anime shorts with that title to hold us over while we wait a year and a half for its return in The Mandalorian and Grogu.

The shorts, available via the official page Star Wars The Japanese Instagram account features “the cutest character from a galaxy far, far away with a new look that combines designs and colors that pay homage to Asian pop culture,” according to a press release.

Grogu: the cutest in the galaxy is a series of new original digital shorts “filled with the charm of the mischievous, funny and lovable character” of The Mandalorian.

Star Wars Japan will release up to two original Grogu shorts per month at 7pm Japan Standard Time on Fridays. The first two shorts, which also feature the Mandalorian and a Loth-cat, are now available to watch online.

Disney also launched a Grogu: the cutest in the galaxy merchandise collection at Tokyo Comic Con 2024, including plush, characters, fashion and food items and more. Grogu themed merch and more Star Wars goods can be purchased on official website of Tokyo Comic Con AND Disney Store Japan.

Grogu (グローグー) and the Mandalorian (マンダロリアン／ディン・ジャリン) will later appear in The Mandalorian and Groguwhich will mark the first Star Wars feature film since then The Rise of Skywalker in 2019. Creator and showrunner of the series Jon Favreau is directing the starring film Pedro Pasquale as The Mandalorian aka Din Djarin, Sigourney Weaver (THE Alien AND Avatars movies) e Jeremy Allen White (The bear AND The Iron Claw) reportedly as Rotta the Hutt, son of Jabba the Hutt.
