A great new image has been released for Tron: Areswhich offers another look Jared Letohis character. I can’t wait to finally see a trailer for this film to see what exactly it will offer.
The film comes from the director Joachim Rønning and during a recent interview with Empire, he talked about the soundtrack to the film Nine Inch Nails.
He said: “With Nine Inch Nails making the music, this installment will be a little grittier, a little more industrial. It was important for me to compare The Grid and the real world. In this sense, Nine Inch Nails lends itself perfectly to this novelty Tron world we are creating.”
Talking about the story, the director said, “What I always look for in any story is a strong emotional core. This movie will probably be more emotional than people expect. It’s about the cost of being human.”
The film follows a highly sophisticated program, Ares, “which is sent from the digital world to the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humanity’s first encounter with AI beings.”
The film is also the protagonist Cameron Monaghan (Star Wars Jedi), Evan Peters (WandaVision), Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith (Without remorse), Greta Lee, Hasan Minhaj, Arturo CastroAND Gillian Anderson. Jeff Bridges is also returning to the world of Tron.
Rønning had previously spoken about the film, saying: “I’m thrilled to be part of the TRON franchise and bring this new film to fans around the world.
“TRON: Ares builds on a legacy of cutting-edge design, technology and storytelling. Now more than ever, it feels like the right time to return to the Grid.”
Jesse Wigutow AND Jack Thorne wrote the screenplay. The film arrives in theaters on October 10, 2025.
