Dan Stevens is getting together with The guest director Adam Wingard and writer Simon Barrett on the upcoming action thriller Assault.
The film is described as “a bizarre action horror thriller” and also stars Adria Arjona (Blink twice) and Brazilian mixed martial artist Alex Pereira .
The report reveals that “Arjona plays a mother who calls upon a particular set of skills to protect her loved ones after running afoul of a threat who has escaped from a secret military base.
“Pereira will play a character called The Butcher, and will bring his skills – including the anaconda choke and spinning kicks – to his meaty role.”
Stevens will play a German scientist working on the experiments who escape.
Stevens is fresh off the roster Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, AbigailAND Cuckoo. It’s great to see him working with Wingard again and I hope they end up making a fantastic film.
I’m not Wingard’s biggest fan Godzilla movie, but I’ve enjoyed his other films and it looks like it will be more in line with his previous original film projects.
Assault is set up at A24 and filming begins in November in New Mexico.
