SUPERGIRL: WOMAN OF TOMORROW casts Eve Ridley as Ruthye

DC Studios’ Supergirl: the woman of tomorrow he threw 3 Body problem star Eva Ridley as Ruthye Mary Knolle.

She will join House of the Dragon‘S Milly Alcockwho will take on the role of the protagonist, and Rust and bones actor Matthias Schoenaerts he got the role of the main villain.

In the comics, Ruthye is a noble, honor-bound warrior who traveled across the cosmos with Supergirl to hunt down Krem of the Yellow Hills for killing her father in cold blood.

Craig Gillespie is directing the film, with James Gunn AND Pietro Safran produce. This will be the second film released in the first phase of Gods and Monsters DC and filming will begin later this year.

Ana Nogueira is writing the screenplay for the film, and it was previously explained that the film is “based on Tom Kingit’s a wonderful comic book series that came out just last year… This is a very different kind of Super Girl.

In this film “we see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents of the time, he is a newborn baby and a super girl who grew up on a sliver of rock off the coast of Krypton and watched everyone around her die and be killed terribly. ways for the first 14 years of her life, and then coming to earth when she was a little girl and is much more hardcore. She’s not exactly the Supergirl we’re used to seeing.”

In King’s comic book history: “Kara Zor-El has seen some epic adventures over the years, but now finds her life without meaning or purpose. Here she is, a young woman who saw her planet destroyed and was sent to Earth to protect a little cousin who ended up no longer needing her. What was all this for?”

Everywhere she goes, “people only see her through the lens of Superman’s fame. Just when Supergirl thinks she’s had enough, everything changes. An alien girl seeks her out for a ferocious mission. His world has been destroyed and the bad guys responsible are still out there.”

She wants revenge, “and if Supergirl doesn’t help her, she will do it herself, whatever the cost. Now a Kryptonian, a dog and an angry, heartbroken child set off into space on a journey that will shake them to the core.”

Here’s hoping Gunn’s plan for the DC Cinematic Universe ends up being a good one. The question is, even if it were, will people come to watch the movies?
