Ridley Scott is developing a new ALIEN movie

After the success of Alien: Romulusnews arrives from the director Ridley Scott is working on another Alien movie.

The Hollywood Reporter recently published a profile on Scott and his Scott Free Productions and according to the article, Scott is “developing a new Alien movies for [20th Century Studios].”

There are no details on what this Alien project will be, but perhaps it will be the sequel Prometheus AND Alien: Covenant.

Scott’s Alien: Covenant the sequel was titled Alien: awakening and a screenplay was written by John Logan.

The film would see it Michael FassbenderThe android David finds himself facing the Engineers on LV-426, which is the moon where the Xenomorph was discovered in the first Alien movie.

It was revealed: “Logan’s script would have seen the return of the Prometheus Engineers, with the survivors of that species pursuing the genocidal David. As for the setting, Scott said it was obvious “We’re really going to the planet.” by this we assume he is referring to LV-426.

It would be interesting to see David take on the Engineers on LV-426. We’ll just have to wait and see if this is actually the Lien movie Scott is developing.

Fede Alvarez is developing the sequel to Alien: Romulus, so this Scott project seems to be a completely separate thing.

Fox president Steve Asbell spoke about this previously Alien: Romulus sequel saying, “We’re working on an idea for the sequel now. We haven’t finalized our deal with Fede yet [Alvarez]but we’re going to do it and he has an idea that we’re working on.

“The two survivors, Rain and Andy, played by Cailee Spaeny and David Jonsson, were the real highlights of the movie. And so I’m always thinking about, ‘Wow, where do people want to see them go next?’

“We know there will be aliens. We know there will be great horror scenes. But I fell in love with both of them and I want to see what their story is.”

When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Alvarez said: “Yes, I absolutely can [pitch a sequel right now]. We tend to do it naturally, without even thinking about sequels.

“For us, films have not become franchises, tentpoles and sequels. This is a language I only learned in the last ten years of my working life [in Hollywood]. For me it has always been a question of history.”

He continued to tease where the story might go: “So once it was over, we started thinking, ‘What do you think will happen when or if they get to Yvaga? Will it be great? Or is it a terrible place?’

“We tend to believe that it’s probably a terrible place that they think is great and fantasize about, so we naturally started thinking about where it goes and what’s going to happen.

“And then, after a few minutes, we say, ‘Oh, it feels like a sequel.’ But we really try to think about it more in terms of the story, whether it needs another chapter and whether people want to know what happens next.

“So we’ll wait to see what people think and if people ask for it. My philosophy is that you should never do that [a sequel] in two years. You have to leave. You have to convince the audience to actually want it.

“If you think about Alien and Aliens, there are seven years between them. But we definitely have ideas about where it should go.”
