AMC premiered a new teaser trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 in New York City: Comic-Con over the weekend. Features the return of Lauren CohanIt’s Maggie and Jeffrey Dean MorganIt’s Negan.
The Walking Dead series may have splintered into a few spin-off shows, but it’s still AMC’s most popular franchise, it’s their bread and butter, so these shows aren’t going anywhere anytime soon.
The series follows Maggie and Negan as they journey through a post-apocalyptic Manhattan, long cut off from the mainland. The crumbling city is filled with the dead and residents who have made New York their world full of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror.
In the second season, in the escalating war for control of Manhattan, Maggie and Negan find themselves trapped on opposite sides. As their paths intertwine, they come to understand that the way out for both is more complicated and heartbreaking than they ever imagined.
The walking dead Scott M. Gimple, Chief Content Officer of the franchise, spoke about the possibility that other characters from the original series could appear in future seasons of Dead citysaying:
“I’m not telling you not to expect it. But it’s a layered universe, and much of the story is relevant to the present. So it will be super satisfying when I say this: You never know. It’s an option and a possibility.”
The Walking Dead: Dead City is now streaming on AMC Plus in the US, with season two set to premiere in 2025.
