Dafne Keen Would Pay Marvel To Continue Playing X-23

Seeing Daphne Acute again as Laura Kinney/X-23 in Deadpool and Wolverine she was so damn cool. Ever since she appeared in Logan, I’ve wanted to see her story continue!

Keen was badass in that role and it’s a shame it took so long to see her reprise her role. While it was great to see her again, she played such a small role in Deadpool and Wolverineand it would be great to see his character explored further.

We have no idea if Marvel has any future plans for her, but during a recent interview with CB, the actress said she wants to continue playing the character so much that she’s willing to pay Marvel to do so.

Keen said: “I would love to come back. I would pay them to come back. Playing Laura has been the greatest honor of my life.

“For me, we’ve only scratched the surface with her, because she’s such a complex character. She’s so cool, just from a fan’s perspective.”

A lot of fans would agree with her. We don’t know if we’ll ever see her again. I mean, Marvel made sure to include her at the end of Deadpool and Wolverineso the door for his return has certainly been left open.

I just hope Marvel takes this opportunity to tell more of his story.

There was an X-23 movie planned at one point when Fox still owned the rights and Logan director James Mangold was working on a story, but nothing ever happened. The film was scrapped after Disney took over.

Creator of X-23 Craig Kyle previously shared her thoughts on where the story should go saying, “We know that children are being created and tested. I would love to see some of the stories we’ve told [in the comics]We try to find out as much as we can about how she got that way, but then we really delve into the stories of what she was forced to do and commit.

“He said he killed people. He said bad people. Most of the people X-23 and Laura killed in the comics were bad people, but he also killed children. He killed an entire press corps.

“I think there’s something powerful in watching her face those horrors without having any say and without the option to not act.

“A story I’ve always wanted to tell is this: Once she’s free and has been through what she’s been through, the only way she can have any hope for the future is to go back and find the lives that remain and that have been damaged by the actions she was forced to commit.

“You put her on this journey of redemption. She’s dealing with the families who have lost their fathers. The orphans, everyone who has been touched by her horrific acts. And she can go through them one by one and deal with everyone who has been affected by the murders that she was forced to commit. If she can get to the end of that road without being killed by those who remain, there’s something on the other side. I think that would be really transformative for the character.”

Do you want Marvel to bring back X-23? Do you think they will?
