THE Sonic the Hedgehog the film franchise has been great for fans and audiences to watch. Paramount Pictures has found great success and the third film coming out looks to be another fun film!
We recently got to see some footage Sonic the Hedgehog 3 at CinemaCon and the audience loved the footage shown by Paramount Pictures.
Now, Knuckles actor Idris Elba he’s talking about the movie, sharing his excitement for it, and explains that the movie is for “die-hard Sonic fans.”
The actor said: “I can tell you it’s super exciting. I can tell you it really delves into the Sonic universe. I think 3 is probably the one for all the real diehard Sonic fans. They’ll understand everything.” of those Easter eggs that are inside.”
It will be interesting to see what all those Easter eggs are about! Sonic 3 seems to adapt several elements from Sonic Adventure 2. The Sonic games released on the Dreamcast are where the franchise began to dive into a story.
The story of Shadow the Hedgehog is a great story arc, and bringing that story to life means the story needs to start pulling major elements out of the game. Keanu Reeves he is said to have been cast as Shadow in the film, but this has not been officially confirmed.
Previously there was talk of the involvement of Shadow, the film’s co-writer Pat Casey he said that Shadow was introduced into the franchise primarily because of his popularity and also what he could bring to the films in the future.
Casey described him as “driven by anger and vengeance”, similar to Knuckles, but the key difference is that Shadow is not misunderstood like the red echidna was in the sequel.
He said: “Shadow was created with the primary goal of protecting the world from danger, but it’s how he does that that will put him at odds with Sonic and his friends.”
He continued, “Sonic has never had to deal with someone as emotionally damaged as Shadow… when he sees Shadow, he’s like, ‘Well, I’ll just teach him the power of friendship, like with Knuckles!’ But this won’t work on Shadow.”
In the character’s background, Shadow’s desire to protect humanity stems from witnessing the death of his friend Maria at the hands of GUN.
It seems that Shadow and Sonic may team up against GUN for the same goal, but Shadow arrives without knowing Sonic’s intentions and is worried, having just experienced something traumatic.
Jeff Fowler he’s returning to directing Sonic 3 with Ben Schwartz as Sonic the Hedgehog, Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Miles “Tails” Prower, Idris Elba like Knuckles the Echidna, James Marsden as Tom Wachowski, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, and Jim Carrey as Doctor Robotnik.
New additions to the franchise will include Kristen Ritter (Jessica Jones), Alyla Browne (Furious), James Wolk (Harley Quinn), Sofia Pernas (Joan the Virgin), Cristo Fernandez (Ted Lasso), AND Jorma Taccone (Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse).
