In case you’re curious about Marvel’s plans for a Scarlet Witch movie, it’s been reported that they’re still moving forward with the project. There’s also some information on when we might actually see the film come out.
Elizabeth OlsenWanda Maximoff has had a very interesting story arc in the MCU and things have taken a really dark turn for her over the course of WandaVision AND Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madnesswhich saw her completely transform into the evil version of the Scarlet Witch.
Her story was quite tragic, and her losses and sadness led her to the Darkhold, which corrupted the Avenger and she went on a horrific and bloody rampage across the multiverse in an attempt to find the variants of her two boys.
Wanda eventually realized that what she was doing was wrong and appeared to destroy herself in the collapse of Wundagore after using her powers to destroy all copies of the Darkhold throughout the Multiverse.
But there’s a brief flash of red shown in the collapsing structure that suggests she may have escaped, which could lead to a solo film. This was reported a few months ago saying this WandaVision AND Agata always producer and writer, Jac Schaefferwill write and direct the film.
Now, collect @MyTimeToShineH is saying that the project is still moving forward and reveals that it will be released by Avengers: The Kang Dynasty AND Avengers: Secret Wars or following the latter. If this is true, it seems that Marvel Studios plans to keep Olsen in this role for a while longer.
Olsen previously spoke about her hopes for the character’s future, saying: “We can do anything with her now! I feel like we’ve done so much. Now we can really have fun; I feel like there will be a lot more humor with her. It often represents the emotion of a story and I’m curious to see what we can explore. And hopefully [we can] Give her some redemption.”
I enjoyed Scarlet Witch’s overall story arc and hope her story isn’t over. Marvel has yet to officially announce a solo film for the character, but I would love to see her story continue in a new chapter.
