The actor got his big break in 1971 with Luchino Visconti’s Death in Venice. The Italian film director later said: “Your world is so beautiful, beautiful child.” Kristina Lindström’s documentary The Most Beautiful Boy in the World describes Andres’ life as follows: “Our paths crossed in Stockholm while he was filming a TV show for children, and then we had a lot of fun working together. For my generation, the title ‘the most beautiful boy in the world’ meant a lot. But I realized that he didn’t want to talk about it.”
According to director Christian Peter, Björn Andresen was initially skeptical about the idea of making a documentary about his life: “He had an extraordinary aura and presence in front of the camera. That’s what I think about most now. All the wonderful moments I spent with him. He was a brave man.”
