One-minute life hack to energize you in the morning

A new trend is gaining popularity on TikTok for those who do not like long morning routines. It’s called 50 Jumps, and according to creator Katherine Smith, it can replace a cup of coffee and give you an energy boost in under a minute. “I am a lazy person by nature, but when my feet hit the ground, I only bounce 50 times,” he says in his viral video. Judging by the millions of views, it just doesn’t work for him.

The meaning is simple: such jumps help to wake up, accelerate blood and deliver more oxygen to the brain. During the night, our body temperature drops and we feel lethargic in the morning. A few seconds of active movement helps “turn on” the body, improve mood and concentration. The effect occurs instantly and, as experts say, the benefits are no less than a full charge.

Additionally, 50 jumps activate the lymphatic system, the body’s natural drainage. Jumping helps the calf muscles act as a pump, pushing lymph upward and helping the body get rid of toxins. “This is a great way to get your lymph flowing right after you sleep, when you haven’t moved for a few hours,” explains Smith.

Jumping also strengthens your bones. A study in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that short but regular jumping increases bone density and improves coordination. “If you can skip it, do it every day. It’s a simple habit that will keep you healthy for years to come,” says Smith.
