Lionsgate Motion Picture Group Reappoints Helen Lee-Kim as New Deal International President

Helen Lee-Kim, president of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, has signed a new long-term agreement as president of International.

The news comes before Lionsgate takes over the world this holiday season with the highly anticipated prequel: The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes on 17 November, approval of a provisional agreement between SAG and AFTRA; one of the few Hollywood stars this fall season allowed to promote his cast.

“Helen is a superstar whose success has helped the John Wick And Saw Franchises around the world are just the latest example of the studio’s ability to expand its status as a premier provider of first-rate motion pictures,” said Joe Drake, chairman of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group. “She is a trusted partner, a great leader and an exceptional sales leader who will continue to play a key role in the company’s continued development.”

Lee-Kim has played a key role at Lionsgate, generating $1 billion in revenue since rejoining the studio in December 2017. She will continue to lead international licensing for Lionsgate’s diverse first-run films, ranging from tentpoles to targeted demo genre pictures. and leads the studio’s rapidly growing multiplatform and global direct-to-stream business.

Finally, Lee-Kim and her team were pushed forward John Wick: Chapter Four The world’s top franchise revenues of $440 million with nearly $253 million in overseas sales, up 62% John Wick Chapter 3; And Saw X, which is quickly approaching $100 million worldwide and still opening overseas. She has successfully closed deals with leading international partners for key Lionsgate properties, including: The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakesand the 2024 John Wick action spin-off ballerinastarring Ana de Armas and directed by Len Wiseman.

Lee-Kim and her team are also behind a number of multiplatform and direct-to-stream releases including Muslim marriage to Amazon, love at first sight to Netflix from the ACE Entertainment partnership and Puppy love to Amazon/Freeve from the Buzzfeed partnership.

Lee-Kim was President of International at Lionsgate from 2007 to 2012. She also worked with Drake and Lionsgate Motion Picture Group President Nathan Kahane on Good Universe (2012–2017) and Mandate Pictures (2003–2007). She is a member of AMPAS and serves on the board of Korean American Leaders in Hollywood (KALH), whose mission is to build a network of industry leaders and empower Korean Americans to promote Asian American interests in film, promote television and advertising streaming media.

Lionsgate Motion Picture Group also announced new long-term contracts for two senior members of Lee-Kim’s team: Michael Meyer, COO of International Motion Picture Group, and Brent Jack, former MPG EVP of International Marketing.
