Let the Party Begin: Thanksgiving Releases and Seasonal Awards, Disney’s Wish and Apple Original Films and Sonys Napoleon open Wednesday through Sunday during the holiday season with sales of more than $50 million and more than $24 million, respectively. Both films open Thanksgiving night, November 22.

That of Ridley Scott Napoleon is obviously aimed at older and younger people, and the 5-day opening is in the ballpark of the helmsman’s previous Thanksgiving 2021 launch. House of Gucci, which grossed $22 million in five days, as well as the Prime Video title directed by Ben Affleck Heaven which earned $20.2 million during a five-day launch last Easter.
Napoleon marks Apple’s second feature-length mega-theatrical release, following Martin Scorsese’s Flower Moon Killer which Paramount distributed. Flower Moon Killer at 3 1/2 hours. Deadline first told you that Apple funded the $130 million epic in January 2021.
