In the eight-part series, Chastain will play “a top secret investigator known as the Savant, who infiltrates online hate groups to take down the most violent men in the land.”
He is called The Savant because he is said to have an “uncanny ability to detect when, exactly, hate speech will turn into violent action.”
Sounds like an interesting and intense story. The original story that ran in Cosmopolitan was written by Andrew Stanley, who serves as a consultant on the series. That article is titled “Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?”
When explaining the importance of the story, Stanely said, “And this story felt so relevant because it all started with this connection to misogyny and a lot of these men becoming mass shooters — it starts a lot with women.”
Chastain will also be executive producing the show through her Freckle Films banner, and it seems like another perfect project to be a part of.
