New rumors claim to reveal who will fill the role of BLACK PANTHER in the coming years

THE Black Panther the franchise had to undergo major rewrites after the heartbreaking untimely death of its star, Chadwick Bosemann. After the actor lost his battle with cancer, the storyline that would have seen his T’Challa return from the accident to realize the birth of his son had to be completely reworked.

T’Challa would have built his bond with his son while fighting Namor the Sub-Mariner, but what we got instead was the loss of the King of Wakanda in the MCU, the coronation of his sister in his place, and the reveal of his son at the end of the film.

As for what the future holds for Wakanda and its leadership, we know that Shuri (Letitia Wright) is set to indent Avengers: Judgment Daybut is his reign long-term, or can we expect the young Toussaint, aka T’Challa II, or even a multiversal variant of the Black Panther to take over soon?

According to a rumor from industry scooper @MyTimeToShineh, “While they are introducing more Black Panthers, [Wright] will remain the main one for years to come.”

Who knows what exactly “years to come” means, but we can probably safely agree that it covers at least the next few Avengers films, as Secret Wars it won’t be released until the end of 2027.

However, in the comics, there is precedent for T’Challa and Shuri to both be Black Panther at the same time. While the latter served as the monarch of Wakanda, T’Challa was appointed King of the Dead by Bast and took on more of a “warrior” role on behalf of his nation.
