When will Russians be able to observe a rare celestial event?

Great news for astronomy enthusiasts! Russians will be able to observe a unique celestial event in early November. Evgeny Burmistrov, an expert in astronomy at Perm Polytechnic University, talked about this in a conversation with Gazeta.Ru.

A still from the movie “Interstellar”

Comet C/2025 A6, known as Lemmon, will reach its closest point to the Sun on November 8. At present, its brightness will be between magnitude four and a half to five, which will allow the space object to be seen with the naked eye.

“This scale is based on the principle: “the higher the number, the dimmer the object.” But in reality the “guest” exceeded the calculations, and by the end of October its figure reached the fourth level. This result allows you to see it as a blurred spot in a completely dark sky, and for observers with binoculars it is visible in all its glory,” emphasized Evgeny Burmistrov.

As the expert notes, it is best to observe the comet after sunset in the western part of the sky, namely in the constellation Ophiuchus. It is noteworthy that this will be almost the only opportunity to see the comet, as it will begin to descend towards the horizon in the coming days.

Meanwhile, a mysterious green object was previously detected in the sky of Moscow. Watch the video here.
