Registration: Friday, December 27, 1945. Five military veterans gather in the ornate living room of a Brooklyn brownstone house. Best friends since childhood, they reunite to support their troubled host—but when his cocktail invitation turns into an impromptu seance, the metaphorical ghosts of their past become all too literal. Trapped in their host’s living room, the Greatest Generation now face one final test… with even more carnage as the only path to freedom.

Sales Agent: The Stock Exchange, Nat McCormick

Panelists: Ted Geoghegan, Anne Ramsay, Jeremy Holm, Kristina Kleber and Larry Fessenden

Premiere: March 12, 2023

main quote: Geoghegan: “I started the compilation with the help of my late father, Michael, who was an Air Force Vietnam veteran and was paralyzed. He helped me write the script almost from day one… Even though he didn’t offer anything “creative”, he offered so much technical information… all the great know-how from his time in the military .

“The question the film raises is: are we the sum of everything we do throughout our lives, or should we be defined by just one thing we do? All the characters have difficult backgrounds, but also good backgrounds, and throughout this evening they all do very good things and they all do very bad things. And by the time the movie is over, it’s really a gray area whether these characters are good or bad… and there are no right or wrong answers.”

Deadline Studio at SXSW takes place March 10-13, where the cast and creatives behind the best and most popular titles from this year’s program at Deadline meet with the festival team to discuss their films and the paths they took to come to Austin, Texas. .
