Although this still couldn’t spoil the ratings.

‘Game of Thrones’ has been a unique phenomenon of modern television for years, and the increased attention of millions of fans to the series could cause a lot of problems, including the advance leaking of new episodes on the internet.

And while the cinematic universe, based on the books by George R.R. Martin, has little in common with the Marvel superhero franchises, the creators of ‘Game of Thrones’ still borrowed a little life hack from the studio, which didn’t change the situation.

As sources reported a few years ago, Marvel at one point introduced a new system for passing along movie scripts to its actors — instead of a full script, they each received an electronic document containing only their own lines.

The studio took such measures after Tom Holland, who stars in the new Spider-Man franchise, repeatedly revealed spoilers for the films, even before they hit theaters.

Around the same time, the creators of “Game of Thrones” worried that information about new seasons could also leak online, negatively impacting ratings — so they borrowed the same script distribution technique from Marvel.

More than anyone else, Peter Dinklage and Emilia Clarke doubted this idea – the actors who played the roles of Tyrion Lannister and Daenerys Targaryen in the series, respectively, always preferred to prepare for filming using a paper script. As a result, even such coding could not save “Game of Thrones” – some episodes from several seasons, from 5 to 8, still leaked onto the Internet. Fortunately, the incident did not have a major impact on the series’ ratings.
