“Inside Out 2”: old emotions, new characters and great animation – my review

“Puzzle 2” won’t hit Russian cinemas until mid-June, but we can already conclude that the sequel has proven to be at least as good as the original. Viewers can expect another cartoon hit from Pixar.

Moving across half of America, puberty and the hostility of new classmates are all challenges for a teenager, and therefore Riley’s head is filled with old emotions that are reluctant to give way to new ones, which the entire team has collected.

Eccentric and sometimes selfish fear, impressionable jealousy, looking at the world through the eyes of the cat from “Shrek”, sad melancholy, not letting go of the smartphone and, it seems, despising everyone around, as well as a great shame, afraid of even take the hand of a beautiful joy – all the newcomers turned out to be diverse, charismatic and memorable.

In addition, critics note that the image in Riley’s head has become even richer and at the same time filled with many new beautiful or funny places. The abyss of sarcasm will probably be dissected into memes immediately after the premiere.

Critics have no questions – only joy! – and to the plot of the long-awaited sequel. Most reviewers admit that the relationship between Riley and her parents is as similar to real life as possible, and by the end of the cartoon it is impossible to take your eyes off what is happening on the screen.

“Inside Out 2 seems like the best Pixar movie of the past decade,” “They took everything that was good about the first part and made it even better! This is a cartoon that comes close to the ideal,” the reviewers summarized, clarifying that in terms of quality from the first part to the second, the film can be compared to “Terminator 2.”
