The family gathering at seaside restaurant Lo Scoglio was held to celebrate the release of 21-year-old son Cruz Beckham's debut six-track EP, Wear & Tear.

Joining fashion designer Victoria, 52, and former England football captain David, 51, were their 15-year-old daughter Harper, Cruz and his 30-year-old girlfriend Jackie Apostel, and David's mother Sandra. At one point during the meal, David planted a cheeky kiss on Victoria's cheek as she leaned on his shoulder.

Victoria paired her mint green cover-up with large sunglasses, while Jackie sported a plunging white sundress with a multi-coloured headscarf. Cruz showed off his tattoos in a white vest top as the group dined at Lo Scoglio, a world-famous family establishment on the southern Italian coast that has long been a regular haunt for the Beckhams.

The menu offered plenty of pasta dishes, and the family enjoyed fine dining Italian food alongside glasses of wine, while David also ate refreshing watermelon. Victoria got her camera out to document the trip, continuing the Beckham family tradition of an annual European holiday. David laughed with his wife and children and smiled as he posed for photos with Cruz.

After the meal, David returned to his £16million luxury yacht to soak up the last of the day's sun. The shirtless former footballer flexed his muscles in bright yellow shorts before taking a dip in the sea. Also enjoying the Italian getaway on board were son Romeo, 23, and his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, 25, who giggled together on the boat.

Family celebration and Cruz's music release

The lunch outing coincided with the release of Cruz's debut EP Wear & Tear, recorded with his band The Breakers. Cruz explained that the six-song project captures "a life lived", covering the good, the bad and all the learning curves in between.

Cruz mused: "We’ve been high, and low, in love and in pain, jealous, upset - we’ve lived and learned. We’ve all got our wear and tear." While the track Wannabe pays direct homage to the Spice Girls' debut single and his mother Victoria, other songs appear to address ongoing family friction.

In the single Seeing Red, Cruz sings: "Been seeing red for as long as I remember / Yeah, I said I'm already there / The moment I drop this s***, the whole thing's over." He clarified that the lyrics are intended as a comedic take on competitiveness in sports, describing it as "a totally unserious moment of frustration" where competitive nature takes over for fun and games.

The accompanying music video for Seeing Red features Cruz and his bandmates playing football in a nod to his father David's professional career. However, the game turns aggressive on the pitch, ending with Cruz depicted as bloodied and bruised.

Lyrics referencing the Brooklyn feud

David and Victoria's eldest son, Brooklyn, was notably absent from the European family jaunt as his ongoing estrangement from the family continues. Cruz appears to hint at the feud in his single Loneliest Boy, which includes lyrics about "breaking mama’s heart" that fans believe were inspired by Brooklyn.

In one scathing verse, Cruz sings: "Loneliest boy, place all your bets on him, To find something bad in somebody good, he always does, loneliest boy, I hope that you’re listening, don’t push all your friends away, when we’re tryna show you love."

The chorus continues: "So tell me you’re scared, and that you need someone to hold. Cause you’re in the room but really, does it even show? But, why can’t they see that you’re a million miles away, They’ll never know, when you look so close."

A second verse reads: "Loneliest boy, mama don’t talk too much, It’s breaking her heart. It shows in the small things that you don’t do, I guess in the end that it’s you, yourself, and you. Tell me how do you live, when you’ve got nobody to lose?"

Ongoing family estrangement and commercial controversy

Brooklyn has not publicly acknowledged any of his parents' birthdays or milestones since the rift began around David's 50th birthday celebrations. He also failed to share a post for Father's Day this year and was reported to be furious after his parents included him in a Father's Day post, requesting that they leave him alone.

Shortly before Christmas last year, Brooklyn blocked his parents on Instagram. His lawyers later wrote to the Beckhams' team requesting that all future communication be conducted strictly through legal representatives.

In January, Brooklyn released a scathing six-page statement announcing he had cut ties with his family. He declared he was no longer part of "Brand Beckham" and called his parents and siblings performative. Brooklyn claimed David and Victoria had controlled him for much of his life, attempted to drive a wedge between him and his wife Nicola Peltz, and left him embarrassed when Victoria danced inappropriately with him during the first dance at his wedding.

Five months after declaring that he and Nicola want privacy, Brooklyn faced widespread criticism from fans who branded him "classless" after he starred in a two-part DoorDash commercial that mocked the family fallout. Critics accused him of selling his family out for a large sum.

In the teaser clip released on June 15, Brooklyn smirked and said: "You're probably wondering why I'm watching the FIFA World Cup 2026 from home... It's a long story." Friends of the Beckhams revealed that David and Victoria were left devastated and inconsolable by the jibe, which mocked the parents he no longer speaks with while profiting from their name.

Brooklyn was reportedly paid at least $1million (£751,000) for the DoorDash campaign, with a source stating that anything making him money demonstrated his brand was flourishing. However, a friend told Daily Mail columnist Katie Hind: "To do an advert based on estrangement from family as if it’s a joke when his family is devastated and sister and grandparents inconsolable is shocking. Especially from someone who claims he wants peace and privacy."
