Wintah Cunnington, a 29-year-old father-of-two from Byron Bay, is shaping up to be one of the most divisive personalities on the 2027 season of Married At First Sight, according to insiders who spoke to Daily Mail. He has been paired with Perth cosmetic injector Kodie Wyatt.

Cunnington is religious, celibate and, according to insiders, unwilling to compromise. He is also said to have been unaware of a key detail about the show before signing up: that the on-screen marriages are not legally binding, and he reportedly wanted out once he found out.

Married At First Sight pairs strangers who meet for the first time at the altar, with relationship experts matching couples before the wedding. The ceremonies are not legally recognised marriages.

Daily Mail can reveal the Byron Bay-based father-of-two, 29, is shaping up to be one of the most divisive personalities on Nine's 2027 season, where he is paired with Perth cosmetic injector Kodie Wyatt

Despite the frustration over the marriage's legal status, insiders say Cunnington has reportedly been messaging multiple other brides behind their partners' backs, raising questions about his intentions on the show.

One insider described his goals on the experiment in blunt terms. "He isn't there for sex, clout, followers," the insider said. "If he has a disagreement or doesn't align he's happy to leave the situation." The source added that he simply wants to walk away with a bride.

While insiders insist Wintah entered the experiment looking for a wife, he has reportedly been messaging other brides - raising questions about what, exactly, he hoped to find in their inboxes

Another insider predicted he would dominate conversation once the season airs. "Wintah will definitely be the talk of MAFS next year," the source said.

Cheating scandals and mass walkouts predicted

Sources told Daily Mail the 2027 season will also feature cheating scandals, mass walkouts, celebrity cameos, same-sex couples and a redemption story in the mould of Eliot Donovan, along with dinner parties that will give the show's relationship experts plenty to discuss.

Intruder groom Zac Nunns and bride Vanilla Milla

Cunnington is not the only cast member expected to cause a stir. Incoming intruder groom Zac Nunns, a former Love Island Australia contestant, has been paired with TikTok influencer bride Vanilla Milla, and their arrival is shaping up to be a major flashpoint within the cast.

Insiders say questions are being raised among the cast about the pair's past and why they were chosen for the experiment. Milla is facing claims about a "racy" past, along with accusations that she was cast to stir up drama, though these remain claims rather than a confirmed explanation for her casting.

"Some of the cast had already made up their minds about why she was there," a source said. "They thought her arrival was designed to provoke a reaction, and that became part of the argument."

Zac Nunns' past connection to another bride

Insiders also revealed that Nunns previously had a relationship with another bride in the cast, a connection Daily Mail says is set to become a talking point at a dinner party. It raises the question of whether producers knew about the connection when they cast him.

"His connection with another bride becomes a topic at the dinner party," a source said. "Once it comes up, there are questions about their history and who knew about it."

Sources say friction surrounding the intruders has already spilled over into filming, with one couple reportedly unhappy enough with how events played out that they wanted to speak to production before filming continued.

Nicole Monaghan and Kol Regev join as intruders

Among the other intruders joining the 2027 cast is Scottish bride Nicole Monaghan, a Perth-based recruitment consultant, who has been paired with Kol Regev, a tradie who previously worked as a topless waiter.

Insiders describe Monaghan as someone who values balance and lifestyle, with an interest in health, beauty and fashion, often spotted at local cafes or staying active outdoors. Insiders say Regev will set tongues wagging thanks to his controversial views.

Not all drama: 'plenty of love' expected too

Despite the scandal and controversy swirling around the new season, sources say the 2027 series will also feature "plenty of love," with some couples reportedly already making plans to relocate interstate to be together.

Married At First Sight returns to Channel Nine on February 1, 2027.
