Kylie Cosmetics has released a lip liner that beauty fans say delivers full colour payoff in a single swipe, the Precision Pout Lip Liner in the shade Comes Naturally. The pencil is aimed at people who want natural, nude lip looks that still hold their shape through the day.
A good lip liner can transform an entire makeup look even when nothing else is worn on the lips besides a bit of gloss. The challenge for any liner is combining strong colour payoff on the first pass with a texture smooth enough not to drag on the lips or leave uneven lines. The formula's ingredients include C10-18 triglycerides, hydrogenated vegetable oil and caprylic/capric triglyceride, which contribute to the pencil's characteristic slippery, waxy texture, along with tocopherol and ascorbyl palmitate. The formula is vegan, cruelty-free and paraben-free.
How to use it for fuller-looking lips
For a natural result, start by tracing the outline directly on top of the natural lip line. For a bit more volume, the liner can be drawn slightly outside the natural outline only at the centre of the top and bottom lip, leaving the corners in their natural position. This creates the illusion of fuller lips without looking like heavy overlining.
Another trick is not limiting the pencil to the outline alone. Lips can be lightly filled in entirely with Comes Naturally, then topped with a clear or nude gloss at the centre. This way, the lip liner acts as a base while the gloss adds volume and freshness.
