Meetings, autograph sessions, previews and red carpets marked the year 2022 of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, held from 17-21 June. This year, nine TV series from 8 countries from around the world compete in the fiction section, which is determined by a jury chaired by comedian Neal McDonoughe (The Flash, Minority Report, Desperate housewives). On this occasion, Adriana Karembeu was surrounded by actress Joséphine Joubert (Murders in Heaven) and even Serbian actor Darko Peric (A Perfect Day, La Casa de Papel). And The Tourist, starring Jamie Dornan, whose first three episodes aired last night on France 2, beating the big winner of the Golden Fairies ceremony with three awards, Best Series, Best Creation, and the BetaSeries Audience Award.
The “Documentaries and News” selection, chaired by Jill Tiefenthaler, the CEO of National Geographic, featured 9 achievements, including a film dedicated to Russian rival Navalny, which won the Best Big News Report award. Erasmus in Gaza won the Best Documentary Award, while the Special Jury Prize went to Syria, Women in War.
Finally, the third and final category was none other than the Prince Rainier III Special Award won by the Water Scouts.
