"a woman with a heart" : Sylvie Vartan’s poignant tribute to Jane Birkin

The tribute continues to pour in for Jane Birkin. On Sunday, July 16, we learned of the tragic death of the French-British singer. Since then, many anonymous but also personalities have wanted to pay one last homage to the mother of Kate Barry, Charlotte Gainsbourg, and Lou Doillon. This is particularly the case of Sylvie Vartan, who took up her pen on Instagram Wednesday, July 19th, to salute the memory of her lost friend. “The lights are slowly fading in Paris… Jane was a heartthrob, a sensitive and generous artist with her soft voice and radiant smile, she had a crazy charm!”remembered in the preface. “Each of us has always had moments of pure happiness, unforgettable! Today in these moments of deep sadness, I think with all my love of your daughters and loved ones”, Sylvie Vartan concluded. She is not the first artist to speak fondly of Jane Birkin. “But why? She was beautiful, she was talented, she was very generous to everyone, her heart was in her arm”especially written by Sheila.
