Singer Mon Laferte was struck in the face by a mobile phone thrown from the crowd during a concert in Las Vegas, United States.

The 43-year-old Chilean musician was performing her hit song 'Amárrame' when the thrown device hit the area around her left eye, prompting security staff to escort her off the stage for medical attention.

The incident took place during her performance on Thursday, November 5, with video footage of the moment circulating widely across social media on Friday, November 6. The footage showed the singer showing visible gestures of pain immediately after the impact, while her backing band continued to play through the song and audience members began booing the attacker.

Medical Attention and Security Response

The concert was interrupted for several minutes while medical personnel attended to the singer backstage. To the relief of fans in attendance, the performer returned to the stage shortly afterwards and continued her show, having apparently avoided any serious injury from the blow.

Security personnel at the coliseum quickly identified the female spectator responsible for throwing the handset and removed her immediately from the venue. Authorities and venue officials have not confirmed any motive for the assault against the five-time Latin Grammy winner.

Award Recognition and Signature Songs

Mon Laferte, born Norma Monserrat Bustamante Laferte in Viña del Mar, Chile, is one of the most prominent Latin alternative pop and rock musicians of her generation. Known for her expressive vocal delivery and dynamic live performances, she rose to continental fame after relocating to Mexico, blending traditional Latin American styles such as bolero, cumbia, and ranchera with modern alternative rock.

Throughout her career, the artist has earned five Latin Grammy Awards, the premier accolades presented by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Her song 'Amárrame', which was playing at the moment of the assault, won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Song after its release as a collaborative single with Colombian singer Juanes. Another of her best known tracks, the dramatic ballad 'Tu falta de querer', became a multi-platinum breakout hit that established her international standing.

The concert was part of an international tour that has taken the musician across multiple countries. Las Vegas, situated in the state of Nevada, is an international entertainment capital that regularly stages major arena tours, residencies, and festivals for leading recording artists.

European Tour and Future Shows

Laferte has not issued a public statement regarding the incident. Instead, her recent updates across social media platforms have focused on her professional schedule and upcoming live dates.

The Chilean artist shared details concerning an upcoming European tour scheduled to begin in January 2027. She also posted images showcasing new wardrobe designs and shoes intended for her next live performance.
