Harvester has revealed that it will demolish its famous self-serve salad bar.

The restaurant will continue to offer fresh food with meals, but customers will not be able to bring the bowls themselves.

Instead, diners will have to wait in line to be served by a member of staff.

And even some longtime favorites, like bacon bits, seem to be gradually being phased out of the chain, reports the sun.

Customer Naomi Johnston, 41, said, “We’ve always loved going to Harvester as a family, but it made us think again.

“The salad is one of the best parts.

“I don’t like having to point fingers and ask for my spoonfuls of slaw, sweetcorn, and Thousand Island sauce.”

He said when his family complained, they were told it was a company-wide transfer caused by rising costs.

Meanwhile, other Harvester fans have taken to social media to complain about the changes.

An online user said: “I’m boycotting Harvester until I can serve my salad.

“Too much for my anxiety for someone to do it for me!”

Another claimed that the best of Harvester has been ruined.

The famous chain has been offering “the nation’s favorite salad” for nearly 40 years.

He first removed his self-serve salad tongs due to the coronavirus.

Harvester said, “We are currently exploring how to provide our customers with the best version of Salad Bar Unlimited in 2022 and beyond.

“We are looking into consumer feedback and hope to update Harvester Salad Bar fans on any changes in the coming weeks.”
