Air taxis will be launched in Dubai in the first quarter of 2026, writes RIA Novosti, citing Khaled Al Awadi, director of the transport technology department at Dubai Transport and Roads Authority (RTA).
“We plan to launch the air taxi service in the first quarter of 2026. We are currently working on testing and certification of the vehicle itself with our partners Joby Aviation. We are also starting the design phase of a station for “vertiports” together with Skyports,” the director said.
There are plans to build four vertical taxi airports in Dubai, two of which will be operational by 2026. According to an RTA official, monitoring and security services will also be established for air taxis.
