The off-Broadway musical revival of the classic by Stephen Sondheim and George Furth We roll happily togetherstarring Daniel Radcliffe, Jonathan Groff and Lindsay Mendez, will head to Broadway in the fall, producers announced today.
The announcement — from producers Sonia Friedman Productions, David Babani, Patrick Catullo and Jeff Romley — heralds the show’s first Broadway revival. The production currently runs through January 22 in a critically acclaimed, sold-out performance at the New York Theater Workshop, followed by sold-out performances at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory and the Olivier Award-winning West End Transfer, directed by Sonia Friedman Productions.
Directed by Olivier Award winner Maria Friedman We roll happily together features music and lyrics from Sondheim, a book by Furth, and is based on the original play by George S. Kaufman & Moss Hart. Radcliffe plays writer Charley Kringas, Jonathan Groff plays composer Franklin Shepard, and Lindsay Mendez plays writer Mary Flynn. The production also stars Krystal Joy Brown as Gussie Carnegie, Katie Rose Clarke as Beth Shepard and Reg Rogers as Joe Josephson.
