MPTF Telethon on KTLA raised 8,493 to keep the charity going

Today’s MPTF telethon on KTLA raised $858,493 for Hollywood’s 101-year-old charity — more than the $750,000 it aimed for. Jeff Bridges, one of several stars who appeared on the show, noted that the MPTF is in “difficult circumstances” due to the extraordinary Covid spending it has incurred over the past three years.

MPTF said in October it was on the brink of its “imminent demise” if it did not raise $10 million to $12 million in cash donations by the end of this year to meet bank compliance and continue ongoing operations.
