Brazilian police say Harry Styles’ merchandise truck was hijacked after initially saying stage show equipment was stolen in an armed robbery

A cargo truck owned by Harry Styles has been stolen in Brazil, police confirmed today after initially suspecting that a pick-up containing his instruments had been stolen.

The van was allegedly driving on Friday on a main road to the city of Curitiba, south of Sao Paulo, when it was stopped and taken away by three men, two of whom were armed.

Police initially said the van was driven by Styles’ crew and contained instruments from his support group, and the report was picked up by Brazil’s biggest news channel, G1.

Harry Styles is currently touring Brazil and will play in the city of Curitiba on Saturday, driving a stolen truck on his way to the gig.

However, officials later clarified that the truck was actually filled with Harry Styles’ merchandise and was not part of the tour group.

The police say the driver was “overwhelmed” by the three robbers, who have not yet been found. The van was not found either.

MailOnline has reached out to Harry Styles’ representatives for comment.

Love On Tour was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 – with shows in Brazil this October – but the Covid pandemic forced it to be put on hold.

It finally started last September with a performance in Las Vegas and will conclude next July in Reggio Emilia, Italy.

Between these two dates, the British singer/songwriter plays 84 shows in 22 countries, including four dates in Brazil.

The first took place in Sao Paulo on December 6, followed by Rio on December 8.

Curitiba would take place on December 10 and the Brazilian leg would end with two shows in Sao Paulo on December 13 and 14.
