The throat orgasm would not be a myth, but a rare reality

According to a 1999 study, out of a panel of nearly 300 people, 20 percent of men and women have already had some form of throat orgasm. Insider media conducted the investigation to explain this phenomenon less rare than it seems.

One would have thought it was just a myth made up by men to encourage women to suck them deep. The iconic 1972 pornographic film, Deep Throat, Linda Lovelace’s fictional character even thinks she has a clitoris in the back of her mouth. But some people do testify that they have actually experienced what is akin to a throat orgasm. This could be triggered by a foul, fingers or even a toy, notes the Insiders.

An orgasm that starts from the throat and radiates throughout the body

Several people testify to this media that they have experienced a form of orgasm only thanks to the stimulation of the mouth, tongue and throat, which radiates pleasure throughout the area, even the genitals, and sometimes even the whole body.

According to some experts this could also be explained by the wealth of sensory cells and nerve endings present in the throat. Always withInsiderssexologist Carol Queen agrees, and reminds us that this kind of pleasure can actually come from anywhere: ” Stimulation of any part of the body can lead to orgasmic experiences. Orgasm is centered in the brain, and some people can experience orgasm in ways that most others don’t even know is possible. »

This orgasm could also come from stimulation of the vagus nerve which indirectly connects the throat to the genitals, via the pudendal nerve, he summarizes Insiders. Hence the impression some people have of having both throat and genital orgasms. This doesn’t mean that anyone with a throat can have a throat orgasm (otherwise it could happen to us when we swallow food, for example). But to favor its appearance, the doctor in obstetric gynecology Amir Marashi recommends first of all to really want it, to relax as much as possible to prevent the gag reflex and to have a very moist mouth.

Are 20% of men and women likely to have a throat orgasm?

Based on a 1999 study by Dr. Herbert Arthur Otto for his book Orgasm Liberated: The Orgasmic Revolution, out of 205 women surveyed, 20% said they had experienced a throat orgasm. Of the 130 men interviewed for this same book, 20% had also experienced this form of intense pleasure. Strangely, this gives rise to far fewer cultural representations when it happens to boys: believing that a certain category of the population has a much greater desire to convince another than the other way around.
