For years now fans have debated whether or not we will ever see a Bad girls 2. The stars of the first film have all branched out to varying degrees of success and are still in the public eye, so now that Lindsay Lohan has returned to cinema and is even in talks to reboot another of her classic films, Crazy Fridayseems like a good time to discuss a meeting of the Bad Girls.
In a recent sit down for Interview Magazine, Lohan and her Mean Girls co-star Amanda Seyfried (the Miserables, The abandonment) talked about the reunion and how fun it would be to get the entire cast together, with Seyfried saying:
“I’d kill just to make a week, playing all our roles in Mean Girls on Broadway.” To that, Lohan agreed that “that would be really fun.” Then Seyfried asked, “Because Mean Girls 2 is never going to happen, is it?”
Lohan is on board for a sequel, but she wouldn’t settle for the wrong script. Lohan explained:
“I don’t know. I heard something about it being a musical film and I was like, ‘Oh no.’ We can’t do that. It has to be the same tone.”
Seyfried agrees that it wouldn’t be the same dynamic. “Yes. It would just be completely different,” admitted Seyfried. “Anyway Tino [Fey] is busy. He will succeed. Listen, we’re all part of each other’s world whether we like it or not, and it’s really nice to be in touch as adults.”
Lohan previously stated that she clarified this with the film’s producer Lorne Michaels that she would be interested in returning to make another film. I know that I and many other fans would also be happy to come and watch it. Maybe if Freak Friday2 takes off, the studios will see the value in a film that has so many fans ready for another shot of nostalgia.
