Turkmenistan to impose fines for lip augmentation and eyelash extension
A number of beauty procedures are banned in Turkmenistan – punishment for them it awaits both the customers of beauty salons and the masters. This was reported by Radio Azatlyk (a division of Radio Liberty*) with reference to their correspondents.

For performing beauty procedures, clients may face fines and detention of 300-500 Turkmen manat (7-11 thousand rubles). Employees of beauty salons that offer such services will also be fined up to 500-1,000 Turkmen manat (11-23.5 thousand rubles), and in some cases up to 15 days in detention.
Although the listed beauty procedures are universal, they are mostly done by women, so they face sanctions.

It’s not the first time that the Turkmen authorities have sanctioned women’s appearance: in 2021, the police detained them for wearing jeans, tight-fitting dresses, and bleaching their hair.
