On August 18, a new import substitution establishment, Stars Coffee, formerly Starbucks, opened. Coffee shop owners Timati and Anton Pinsky attended the opening and answered all questions from the media.
The excitement was frenzied: people crowded at the entrance, the media furiously punching their way with tripods to get close to the heroes of the event. Timati and Pinsky almost completely satisfied our curiosity, they simply left the organization careless about the costs of acquiring and re-registering.

The new logo depicts a “Russian girl” in a kokoshnik, and all products from which coffee and snacks will be made are also domestic. The stars managed to find Russian almond, soy, coconut and other alternative milk types, so the place remains vegan-friendly.
The menu has not changed much, all the hits remain, and the dish will be even tastier, according to Timati: “No frozen soups.” The taste of coffee does not differ from the original, and the prices remained the same, 300-400 rubles per cup.
To the most exciting question of them all: “Will names be written on the cups?” The answer is yes. According to the new owners, this well-loved feature is not patented, so you can safely ask staff to write “Lord” on glass or any other creative. The cups are still white and transparent with a logo attached to the top (at least they didn’t smear the old logo with a marker).

Speaking of employees, despite the rumors, 80% of former Starbucks employees have moved to their new location. True, due to intense preparations for the opening, some admitted that they last slept two days ago.
Stars Coffee will not be limited to one establishment on Arbat, they will continue to operate in closed facilities throughout August and September. It is planned to open 90 coffee houses and 15 wide-format points in all cities of Russia.
Timati says that he personally tasted all the drinks and invites everyone to appreciate the efforts of his team since August 19th. If you don’t want to wait in a big queue, our advice is to wait a bit until the excitement subsides and staff remembers all the new positions.
