This year sees the HBO series House of the Dragon, which will consist of 10 episodes. The authors requested a budget of a whopping $20 million for their grandiose show. They assure: This will allow them to realize stunning, quasi-medieval landscapes and create beautiful computer dragons, according to NME.
As for the plot, according to the showrunner, the director of the original Miguel Sapochnik already approaches filming with a basic structure. The new story is based on passages from Martin’s 2018 novel Fire and Blood and follows the breakup of House Targaryen in an era when this amazing family still rules Westeros. House of the Dragon will be available on Sky Atlantic from August 22.
